The Revd Gavin Wakefield is Director of Mission and Pastoral Studies, teaching mainly in the area of mission. Gavin originally studied mathematics at Durham and after teaching for several years went on to ordination training at Nottingham. He held two posts in the diocese of Sheffield. He was then a Team Vicar in Billericay. He joined the staff of St. John's College in 1998. He is married to Fran, herself a priest, and they have three daughters. |

A former Dentist chairs an ecumenical venture called Together for Regeneration, which looks at sustainable regeneration in some of the most deprived areas of the Diocese of Sheffield. |
Bishop David James became Bishop of Bradford in 2002 and was previously Bishop of Pontefract and has been a vicar in Sheffield and Southampton. Before ordination he taught Chemistry and he has been a university chaplain and governor of a College of Higher Education. |
